A new roof for your home is an investment meant to protect your home and family for more than a decade. Most people only get a roof done two times in their lives. Considering this, selecting the correct person to do the job is more than just choosing the cheapest provider. Your roof should survive a minimum of 20 years and may need to be serviced by warranty. It’s important to make sure the contractor you select has a reputation for being there when you need them.

Research any potential roofing contractors and ask them the following questions to ensure you are putting your family’s investment in the right hands.

Are they certified Shingle Master Installers by a top-of-the-line shingle manufacturer, and do they use shingles that are only sold to professional contractors and are not available directly to consumers? https://www.certainteed.com

Peet Roofing always uses high-quality roofing products, such as CertainTeed shingles. We are certified Shingle Master Installers.

Are they offering you a manufacturer-backed warranty?
Yes we do. Because Peet Roofing is Shingle Master Certified by top-of-line shingle manufacturer CertainTeed. We can offer you a 20-year warranty upgrade, or a 50-year warranty upgrade. Ask your Project Manager for more details.

Are they offering the very best shingles on the market?
We offer and recommend CertainTeed shingles and components on all of our jobs, but we are experienced and trained on installing any of the top shingle manufacturers. It’s your home and your roof. So, if you prefer a different manufacturer than CertainTeed, we will install whatever you choose.
Ask us how we can upgrade your shingle to Impact Resistant Class 3 Landmark Pro by CertainTeed.

How long have they been in business?
Peet Roofing is a family-owned company specializing in residential roof installation and storm repair throughout Central Florida. Originally founded in Ohio in 1937, Peet Roofing Central Florida was established by Robert Peet in 1993 and is now owned and operated by his nephew, fourth-generation roofer Andrew Peet. Andrew Peet began his roofing career in Central Florida and Polk County under the guidance of his uncle in 1993. With Robert Peet’s support and mentorship, Andrew took over the heart of Central Florida operations in 2006, continuing the family legacy. Robert Peet continues to help homeowners in Polk County with their roofing needs. Some of Andrew and Robert Peet’s relatives still operate their own roofing businesses throughout Ohio.

Are they offering you the best material on the market for all components of the roof, including the roof underlayment, vents, flashing, starter shingles, and ridge cap shingles?
We offer and recommend CertainTeed products for your new roof.  We believe this product to be the most consistent.  Most importantly, we know what one square of shingles will weigh coming out of the CertainTeed factory. They still display the weight of their shingles on their data sheets, whereas the other top shingle manufacturers do not.

We are also experienced in installing a complete Integrity Roof System. Meaning all components are made by a reputable company like CertainTeed. When you do this, you qualify for the upgraded 20-year or 50-year warranty. We are allowed to offer this system because we are Certified Shingle Master Installers.

Are they using valley metal as well as Ice and Water Shield in all valleys?
Yes, it is standard for us on all jobs to use both valley metal and Ice and Water Shields. The Florida Building Code only requires one or the other, but at Peet Roofing, we use both to make sure your roof is always protected from leaks.

What warranties and guarantees in workmanship do they have to offer?
When using all Certainteed components on your roof, you qualify for their 3-star (20-year) or 4-star (50-year) warranty.

Additionally, Peet Roofing offers a 5-year workmanship warranty on all jobs. This means if any components or flashings fail, everything, including parts and labor, is free of charge. If you have a leak or issue after 5 years, always call your Project Manager first. Most of the time, we can solve any issues with minimum or no cost out of pocket.

Do their installation crews work for the company, or do they hire subcontractors?
Peet Roofing prides itself on having its own crews. We do not subcontract 99% of our work. Many of our installers have been with us from the start, including our two main foremen, who have worked with Peet Roofing for over 20 years.

Do they carry worker’s compensation insurance?
We carry full worker’s compensation insurance and liability. Ask your Project Manager to see our Certificate of Insurance for both, or contact our office and we can send it to you via email. Contact us at Nanci@peetroofingcentralflorida.com

How much experience do they have in your market
Peet Roofing has been helping homeowners in Florida since 1993, so we have over 30 + years of experience in this market.

What is their company’s reputation in your market and in the roofing industry community?
Andrew Peet has held multiple positions with the Central Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (CFRSA) including President, Vice President, and Secretary. He remains an active board member of the CFRSA.

Are they affiliated and active participant members in all the Florida market’s accredited professional Roofing Organizations?
Peet Roofing is affiliated with the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA), Central Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (CFRSA), and Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Do they require any money upfront before the work is completed?

Can they offer you financing?
Because we are active members of the FRSA, you can apply for financing for your roofing project through them.
